The Associated Roofing Contractors of Oregon and SW Washington was established by twelve commercial roofing contractors in December 1957. Over the years, membership has expanded to include residential as well as commercial roofing contractors, distributors and manufacturers of quality roofing materials. The ARC now consists of over ninety roofing contractors, distributors and manufacturers of roofing materials in Oregon and SW Washington.

Originally, the association focused on labor relations, building code issues and educational activities. Education, training and safety continue to be major activities as the ARC strives to promote and encourage professionalism and integrity in the roofing construction industry.
